Hello, it's Luna! (Main blog is @lunawings.) This is a fanblog for Pretty Series and Idol Land PriPara! Historically this blog has mostly focused on Pretty Series games but I summarize/review the anime episodes as well. Currently, the main focus of this blog is Idol Land PriPara, the game. Idol Land PriPara is a new PriPara anime and mobile game released as of August 2023! It is region free and anyone can download it! When I lived in Japan, I once recorded arcade videos of PriPara and PriChan using unofficial USB recording devices at some arcades. This is no longer available as both arcade games were discontinued in February 2022. PriMagi was also discontinued as of March 2023. Some Prism Stone shops used to still run older Pretty Series games, but as of now PriPara was re-discontinued in March 2024 and Pretty Rhythm was re-discontinued in April 2024. If you visit Japan, you will be able to play the newest Pretty Series games, Himitsu no AiPri and AiPri Verse, at arcades nationwide! Friend code: depn7w3xct Friend requests currently: OPEN! The rumored PriPara arcade game Detective Conan collab has finally been acknowledged by the official site.

Coords will be available in Time2. It even includes Conan’s eyeglasses as a coin shopping character part.
This is weird.
(For everyone who always wanted boy coords on the PriPara arcade game…. here you go…?! Seriously though….)
PriPara Asian version.
Just out of curiosity, is anyone following this blog living in a country that is getting the PriPara Asian version? I think it’s just for Hong Kong and Taiwan? But I’m not sure.
If so, any idea when it’s coming out? How is it being promoted in your country?
(As I live in Japan it should go without saying that everything I post and every question I answer about the PriPara arcade game is going to relate to the Japanese version. So, if anyone is living in a country that is getting the Asian Version, who knows what will apply. I was thinking about this as I was walking to work this morning and it made me curious to ask.)
atelierrox asked:
Hi!! Always been curious about this, so I'm asking it, if it's not a bother! :) What *was* the PriPara arcade screen resolution? :0 Or, just, how big was the screen even? Buying a new screen to play my games on made me wonder this lmao, as I'm getting a 4k monitor, I'm just wondering how "accurate" to the arcade the Switch game graphics would hypothetically be in 4k. (I know the Switch can't output in 4k, it's just a random curiosity I've had haha!) Thank you in advance! :)
So believe it or not, I searched for and found the original patent for the PriPara arcade game, because I had no idea how to accurately answer this question otherwise. (It never occurred to me to bring a tape measure while playing haha…)
But, as far as I can tell, it doesn’t list any actual dimensions and the only references to size I could find referred to the tickets/photos. So, perhaps the best I can do is pull up some photos of adults standing next to the machines for scale.
But, without even knowing the true dimensions, you may have already noticed a critical problem. The Switch does not accurately reproduce the arcade game screen in the first place. The screen is flipped horizontally in both the Switch game and in Idol Land, whereas on the arcade game, it’s always been vertical.
Looking at these photos, I’d guess it was something like 3 feet tall and a foot and a half across?
But I don’t know how useful this info might be…
Although… another interesting thing to note, though, is that there is (or was) a bug people encountered in Idol Land that allowed the game to run vertically, and in doing so the resolution of the character models actually seems to jump closer to arcade quality. In theory if someone hacked the Switch game to run vertically, perhaps the same might be possible? Haha…
PriPara Manager System!
Today I would like to talk about the PriPara manager system.
If you’ve ever watched the anime you’ll know PriPara idols are managed by the series mascots such as Kuma and Usagi. The PriPara arcade game has mascot managers too, but they were actually introduced only recently with 2015 1st Live.
When I first started playing PriPara I recieved an egg. It looked like this:
And it appeared on my profile and was printed on all my PriTickets, but had no in-game effect.
Then with the start of 2015 1st Live it hatched, at the same time as everyone else’s, into this:
My very own original manager!
As it turns out there are five types of managers and 7 different color patterns. That means there are a total of 35 possible managers. Mine isn’t even pictured on the website.
What do managers do in the game? Well they don’t give you advice nor make decisions like in the anime, but they do effect your score. If one of your teammates has a manager of the same color 100 points are added to your score. And if both of your teammates have the same color manager you get 300 points.
While it’s fairly easy to get a team of characters wearing the same style or color of outfits, getting a team with the same managers is much more difficult since it’s determined by your character names. So it adds a new element of luck.
